The History of FLIBS & What to Expect at FLIBS 2019
2019 marks the 60th anniversary of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Fort Lauderdale is the perfect home for FLIBS; our city is known as both the Yachting Capital of the World and The Venice of America, with miles of intracoastal waterways that make the perfect playground for yachting. FLIBS has been in many locations throughout Ft. Lauderdale over its 60 years, and this year is no different.
For 2019, visitors to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show can see the most exciting yachting offerings available. FLIBS 2019 will include:
- 6 miles of floating docks
- 3 million square feet of exhibition space
- 7 locations throughout Fort Lauderdale
- Over 1,500 boats and yachts on display
- 1,200 exhibitors from marine and yachting industries
FLIBS is a truly international event, with over 110,000 visitors from around the world. For 2019, it is estimated that the visitors will hail from 52 countries, making FLIBS the largest in-water international boat show in the world. One highlight of FLIBS is the Superyacht Village, a new hub for the finest yachts at the show. The Superyacht Village will feature vessels over 300 feet that typify the most elegant and impressive yacht designs, features, and technologies. 1
Other features unique to the 2019 rendition of the boat show include a chef’s competition, an angler’s hospitality lounge, and multiple seminars on a wide variety of topics.
